Originally out of the Minecraft Cookbook, this is the BEST sugar cookie dough for rolling out!
It doesn’t rise as much, so your cookie-cutter cookies hold their shape better. And it’s yummy too!
Sugar Cookie Dough
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature (IMPORTANT!)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large bowl, mix dry ingredients.
- In mixer, (or another bowl), mix butter and sugar together on low.
- Add eggs and vanilla to sugar mixture and mix until combined.
- Slowly add dry ingredients.
- Scrap sides of mixer and mix again.
- Remove dough and roll into a log. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
- Dust your work surface with flour (cutting board, counter, pastry mat). Roll out dough until 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out desired shapes. If dough starts to break easily when cutting out, chill for another 30 minutes.
- Place cookies on parchment lined cookie sheet and bake 11-13 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before moving to wire rack.
