This is Sarah Gonzales’ pickle recipe. Gonzo brought amazing sandwiches to school every day in high school, and he always gave me his pickles. They are magical.
Makes 4 1/2-gallon jars
Brine Ingredients
- 1 qt. White Vinegar
- 3 qts. water
- 1 cup pickling salt
Fill each 1/2-gallon jar with washed cucumbers, one grape leaf, two heaping tsps of dill, 2 garlic buttons and one pepper pod (optional).
Seal and let stand for 6 weeks before opening.
